CK Group is recruiting for a Laboratory Analyst / Assistant to join a multi national company in the food industry at their site based in Berkshire on a contract basis until December 2017.

The main purpose of the role will be to:
Perform testing of finished product and raw materials, according to defined methods and procedures.
Provide effective risk based quality control oversight of defined operational areas to confirm adherence to quality processes and standards.
Conduct routine/non-routine/investigational analytical/microbiological testing as required to support operational objectives.
Be responsible for the analytical, microbiological and sensory testing of finished products and raw materials.
Be responsible for the application of laboratory processes e.g. out of spec investigations, calibrations, GLP, Housekeeping etc.
Act as deputy for Validation of laboratory methods and equipment, Holds and Positive Release processes.
Verify that quality/safety critical checks are effective and ensuring appropriate actions are taken in the event that such checks are not deemed effective.
Support investigations into quality issues, applying Root Cause Analysis (problem solving) and Corrective and Preventative Action processes, in particular through shift working in operational areas.

In order to be considered for this role, you will be required to have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
Degree (or equivalent) in a Science subject with experience of working in an industrial laboratory conducting analytical / microbiological testing.
Knowledge and understanding of GMP is essential.
Experience of Root Cause Analysis and CAPA processes's would be advantageous.
