Act as the pricing model gatekeeper. Be proactive in policing and responding to business requests for updates to existing pricing models and implement new pricing models were required.

Main Responsibilities

Act as first point of contact between BD, partners and finance in respect of pricing for client pitches
Develop pricing proposals, evaluate the commercial risks and opportunities and forecast profitability of those proposals
Regularly review the actual outcome of previous proposals to improve commercial decisions
Maintain and develop pricing models to more accurately forecast profitability of pricing proposals
Maintain and develop cost rate models
Educate partners and BD teams about hourly and non hourly rate approaches to pricing for work
Provide client management information support to the BD and partner teams
Support partners and the commercial manager in commercial negotiations with clients
Support the delivery of profitability analysis and reporting improvements following global 3E rollout
Support in the development of pricing strategy and controls
Additionally support and assist Commercial Manager with other profitability improvement initiatives


Understanding of approaches to pricing in professional services environment
Experience of evaluating profitability of pricing proposals and in delivering objective feedback to BD and partner teams
Excellent communications skills (finance, partners and clients)
Problem solving skills and ability to use initiative
Strong IT skills (particularly legal practice management systems and Excel)
Ability to investigate and suggest solutions
Meticulous attention to detail
Strong customer focus
