Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Designated Special Provision Unit - 2 roles available

Location: Plumstead, South East London

Salary: £16,082 - £17,168 dependent on experience

Position: 35 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

The school is looking for Learning Support Assistants to join their DSP team which is a provision for students with special educational needs. You will work collaboratively with teachers and other colleagues to ensure a high quality tailored provision for their SEN students. Promoting a culture of high expectations, including the active participation of students in challenging learning is an important part of the role. You will lead small withdrawal groups in sessions which are both engaging and memorable, assessing and recording the attainment and progress of these students in line with the Learning Support Department's policies.

To be successful you will need a minimum of level 2 qualifications in English and Maths. You will also need an understanding of the academic, social, emotional, physical and mental health barriers that students face.
