The Company and the Role:

The Company is a multi-award winning gastro pub chain operating 7 sites in the South East. They are currently seeking a General Manager for their gastro public house located near Epsom, Surrey.

The position is permanent.

Key Features of the Role:

The Company's business is all about happy customers so they are looking for people who have the personality to lead and motivate the entire Kitchen and Front of House teams. To get everyone to contribute to the overall success of the company, by managing all business aspects of the gastro pub effectively.

Your role as the General Manager is to maintain good gross profits and margins, hygiene standards, stock rotation and ordering, staff engagement and payroll and staffing levels etc. As well as maintaining the Company's high standards.

All food is prepared in house using fresh ingredients, using local suppliers wherever possible, handling and negotiating with strong personalities both internally and externally is a key feature of this role.

You will need to thrive in a very busy environment and enjoy working as part of a team in a respectful and positive communication led way.

This particular venue has a great opportunity for growth and development, so it offers the chance to make a name for yourself.

Knowledge and Skills:

You should be an accomplished Deputy Manager or General Manager, ideally with experience of working in a similar sort of environment. With both front and back of house management skills and knowledge.

Alternatively, as the Company is supportive to the ex-military community, they welcome applications from candidates at all levels who are either about to leave the Armed Forces or who are ex-military.

You should have a passion for perfect customer experience every time and be an excellent team player and leader, who can respectfully communicate to the whole team.

You should have financial understanding of controlling costs, stocks, margins, payroll, budgets and a good knowledge of hygiene and health and safety etc.

What's on Offer:

Established in 2003 the Company is offering a salary which will be in the region of GBP26K to GBP35K per annum plus tips which will be worth around GBP80 per week. In addition, there is a monthly bonus scheme.

Other benefits include a pension scheme, staff loyalty Scheme after 3 months and Childcare Vouchers.

Standard working week is 45 hours working 5 shifts a week.
