Operations The Operations division is both the first line of defence for protecting Bank financial and reputational well-being, and an essential partner contributing to the firm's growth. Facing off to all Bank businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors. Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. One of the largest divisions in the firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Data Operations The Data Operations team is part of Shared Services and Banking Operations (SSBO). Bank Shared Service and Banking Operations delivers industry leading operational solutions by aligning the right functions, people, processes and tools into 10 core disciplines offering tailored client service levels that are efficient, controlled and compliant with regulation. Our core disciplines are Data Operations, Asset Servicing, Cash Management, Global Banking Services, Loans Servicing, Network Management, Payments, Reconciliations, Settlements and Tax Operations. Data Operations is responsible for Legal Entity, Client, Product and Pricing reference data for the firm. Primary Responsibilities We currently have an opportunity to lead the build out of the Data Operations Regulatory Control function based in London. The candidate will report to the Data Operations COO VP based in London and will have diverse responsibilities, including but not limited to the following: Analysing and improving processes: Identifying and managing risk and guiding the team. As such communication and organisational skills as well as attention to detail and a readiness to escalate issues with a sense of urgency are of importance. Root-cause analysis of regulatory reporting data quality issues to determine trends in the data, identify to improve opportunities to improve our regulatory controls and track to completion. Builds and manages key stakeholder relationships and peers on a day-to-day basis: Engaging with stakeholders across multiple areas such as Trading, Operations Risk and Control, Production Management and Technology to capture requirements, communicate status and escalate issues related to data quality initiatives. Ability to organise and track deliverables: Co-ordinating regulatory control deliverables across the global Data Operations team, including the build out of the Static Data Regulatory Control framework. Prioritising and reporting on the build out of additional data controls and data quality rules to close out control gaps. Drives enhancements and best practice standards in relation to data quality: Identifying, defining and coordinating development of rules to monitor the data quality against external data providers. Manages changes and implementation of regulatory control initiatives: Identification and implementation of process improvements as well as contributing to the ongoing change projects impacting the team. Identification, mitigation, escalation and reporting of potential/current risks. Engagement in Policy reviews: Provides input into all policy and procedure reviews to ensure policy wording is unambiguous and drives minimal exceptions and policy can be adhered to by Data Operations. Performs and supervises QA on data controls: Manages the independent monitoring and quality assurance of key processes, including select high impact functions Vendor Management: Participates in review of vendor controls in relation to Regulatory static data controls. Independently co-ordinates the global regulatory efforts with the Global Leads: Leads the process of interpretation of regulatory rules and the dissemination of this advice to relevant line personnel. Leads the process of supporting the demands of regulatory audits and ad hoc queries. Skills required (essential) Graduate ( B.Com/M.Com/MBA in Finance/Equivalent Degree) Over 5 years of experience in financial services. Good understanding of reference data (eg Equities, Listed Derivatives, Legal Entities, Accounts) and operational risk. Business Analysis and/or Project Management Operational risk management experience in a line or risk role Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. Ability to coordinate and efficiently manage people. Stakeholder management skills. Ability to quickly digest new information and learn new businesses and processes. Think strategically and provide insight into how to improve existing business and technology processes. Result-focused mind set. Skills desired Experience of working with remotely located teams and clients. Experience of working with large datasets and related tools to analyse data. Ability to work well under pressure, lending control and order to a difficult or pressurized situation Proficient in Microsoft Office
