Riversides activities in Europe are concentrated around five offices, Brussels, London, Munich, Stockholm and Madrid, with some 30 investment professionals. Riverside is investing from its fifth European vintage and has more than USD 5 billion of assets under management. The fund has a very good deal flow. Currently, the most active sectors are Technology, Healthcare and Manufacturing.

Riverside is looking to enlarge its London based transacting team and is looking to hire a Transaction Senior Associate, to work as part of the UK & Ireland coverage team, but with the opportunity to take part in a pan-European industry specialization and to gain meaningful exposure in working with colleagues in other Riverside offices throughout Europe.

Job description

To provide valuable support on transaction execution and portfolio company oversight. To help research and evaluate new deal opportunities, perform detailed financial and commercial due diligence during deal execution, and support the preparation of internal investment analyses and documentation. Working primarily with the London based team, there will also be an opportunity to work with colleagues in other Riverside offices throughout Europe.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Completing thorough industry and deal-specific research;
  • Preparing memoranda for investment committees and other internal audiences; • Building robust and accurate financial models;
  • Participating in company visits and management presentations;
  • Supporting due diligence processes, including gathering and analyzing financial, commercial, legal, accounting and tax company data, compiling industry and market research (desktop research, expert calls, etc.), coordinating advisors and organizing data rooms;
  • Producing analyses to evaluate and execute add-on opportunities and transactions for existing portfolio companies;
  • Supporting the preparation of 100-day plans to spearhead the strategic development of newly acquired companies;
  • Processing portfolio company financial data;
  • Preparing quarterly reports on portfolio companies for LP investor reporting purposes

Candidate profile

The successful candidate is likely to have solid experience from investment banking, private equity, management consultancy or transaction services of a "Big 4" or similar audit firm, with explicit knowledge in financial due diligence, ideally for mid-market private equity investors. The successful candidate will have strong financial modeling capabilities and an analytical and commercially driven mindset (able to understand market trends and the corresponding impact on a company's strategy and business model). They will possess strong mathematical ability and have excellent verbal and written communication skills. In addition, very strong academics (1st Class Honours or 2.1 Degree) from a well reputed university are required. The successful candidate will be self-confident, possessing the gravitas to present well to portfolio company senior management and other key stakeholders.
