We are currently have a great opportunity for a Level 2 Assistant Merchandiser to join our Central & Branch Merchandising department.

The successful applicant will have substantial experience in a similar role, ideally gained within a fast paced retailer and will combine high levels of numeracy with a good understanding of allocation processes and principals.


This varied role will be responsible for a number of key activities, including:

- branch performance analysis and optimisation
- co-ordination and analysis of new store stock packages
- intake and despatch forecasting and DC liaison
- management of Outlet and Clearance strategy
- liaising with Area Management team and supporting with regular store visits
- support for new stores and store anniversary support and analysis programme
- producing board reports for the Trading Director
- focusing on supporting new partnerships and initiatives, including providing dedicated support to our top performing stores, in order to maximise sales and optimise the performance of in store trials, etc
- using existing range plans to ensure the effective allocation of stock to specific stores within the estate
- monitoring and producing weekly reports on key areas, including best sellers, range performance, and branch cover reports
- producing detailed weekly reports for forecasting purposes and make recommendations for effective stock level planning
- building and maintaining effective working relationships with Buyers, suppliers, stores and the warehouse operation to ensure the most effective service is delivered to the business at all times
- organising store visits to develop commercial skills, gathering information on layout and space, merchandising of range, customer profile and stock level with in store colleagues


The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

- previous experience in a similar level role, working with seasonal product categories
- a keen eye for detail with strong analytic skills
- solid IT skills, with a particular focus on confident data manipulation using Excel

- strong communication and team working skills

- strong organisational skills, with the proven ability to manage a challenging workload and consistently meet deadlines

- the ability to multitask, maintain focus under pressure and ensure accuracy and attention to detail at all times
- general administrative skills, with accurate data entry
