The Team

The Partner Accountant plays a key role within the Partner Finance, Tax and Capital Team based in London. The team is responsible for providing support to the Partnership in respect of Partner remuneration, UK and international entity level and individual taxation, and maintenance of Partner capital accounts. The Partner Accountant will have responsibility for the maintenance of Partner current accounts and payment of profits to Partners of Norton Rose Fulbright LLP in London and overseas offices. This position reports to the Senior Manager of the Partner Finance, Tax and Capital team.

The Role

Management of the forecasting, calculation, and payment of monthly drawings and quarterly distributions to Partners globally
Management of the Partner Master schedule incorporating joiners, leavers and transfers which then forms the foundation of the firm's annual profit sharing calculations
Preparation of monthly and quarterly BACs, and international payment instructions - liaising with cashiers and overseas Finance teams to ensure smooth payment runs
Working closely with HR and other members of the Partner Finance Tax and Capital Team to ensure equitable treatment of Partners in respect of remuneration levels and policies around currency
Providing assistance to overseas Finance teams in respect of Partner current accounts queries
Providing assistance to Partners who require confirmation of their annual profits to assist with bank lending, and who may have queries regarding their current accounts and payments
Ad hoc requests for profit projections and cash flow projections to assist with planning for Partner retirements
Preparation of all annual current account statements for Partners
Monthly management and reconciliation of Partners current accounts in the balance sheet
Support to the wider Partner Finance, Tax and Capital Team in respect of ad-hoc analysis/project work and other tasks as required

Skills and Experience Required

Qualified or part-qualified accountant
Strong interpersonal skills: ability to deal with Partners and other senior stakeholders
Experienced user of Microsoft Excel including advanced functions
Self-motivated and self-disciplined in meeting key deadlines
Strong numerical, analytical and reporting skills
Experience in a similar role
Experience of SAP
