We are recruiting for an experienced Outerwear Garment Tech who is customer facing, and has a Supplier background with at least 3 to 4 years experience.
My client is a busy Outerwear Specialist, based in Central London, supplying a who's who of the High Street.

Main Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Measuring and specking garments to send to customers.
  • Fitting garments in office and attending Fit Sessions with customer.
  • Uploading test reports & spec sheets on customer online portals wherever necessary.
  • Grading specs, checking over all productions in relation to all approvals.
  • Taking photos & maintaining a library of all styles, per customer, per season.
  • Understanding of fabric testing, reading test reports & ways of improving test results.
  • Able to construct appropriate wash care labels & checking them when Production Samples arrive.
  • Updating your internal critical path.
  • Working in tandem with the rest of the production team to meet delivery date.
  • Daily contact with overseas factories in China & chasing fit samples.
  • Taking on new accounts & developing them.
  • Working together with the other Garment Tech in all areas like measuring, fitting & test reports.
Person Requirements
  • Must have Outerwear experience.
  • You must have a good understanding and extensive knowledge of garment construction.
  • The ability to recognise when customer requirements are not workable or could potentially affect cost.
  • Experience working with Far East suppliers & UK retailers.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management.
  • Must be able to communicate at all levels.
  • Organisation skills.
  • Garment measuring experience.
  • Computer literate in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Team player.
  • Great communicator.
  • Proactive and flexible.
  • Reliable and prepared to take responsibility.
  • Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
