The Role

This role is dedicated to ensure the financial running of the company is fully compliant and stands the time of substantial growth. An excellent opportunity for a self-starter to make it their own. You'll be excited by the prospect of influencing the shape and direction to take the company beyond Series A and into Series B funding. What you'll be doing
  • Running the Financial Control of the department.
  • Responsible for all statutory accounts (incl reporting to company house, HMRC, VAT).
  • Managing the external audit process.
  • Managing the month-end process from both P&L and Balance Sheet perspective.
  • Developing and Reporting on progress against KPIs and budget.
  • Setting and owning Corporate Governance framework.
  • Developing a robust framework for weekly cash flow reporting.
  • Advising on the appropriate tax and legal structure fitting the growing company.
  • Leading the company through the choice and implementation of a new finance system fit for the next phase of company growth
  • As part of the Finance Leadership team providing input on significant changes in company structure esp when overseas rollout increases the complexity.
  • Where required be very hand-on supporting the wider finance department
  • Collaborating across all teams, particularly with the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Product Officer, Chief Technology Officer and Chief Commercial Officer.
  • ACA or equivalent professional qualification with 1+ years post qualification experience gained in practice with potentially one commercial role post qualification.
  • Audit experience within the property or TMT sector in a small to medium company.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Can-do attitude, prepared to deep dive into the detail, without losing sight of the strategic objectives of the company.
  • Having the mindset to work with any available finance systems (Xero, Microsoft Dynamics, MS Office suite, Mac). We expect you to have an influential voice in any future system implementations.
  • Knowledge of tech ecosystem and in particular the tech startup/ scale-up sector would be ideal. We are passionate about the companies we serve and hope you share our enthusiasm.
  • Strong communication skills, empathy for our members, passion and drive.
  • Staff management experience is not essential but advantageous as this position will develop to include management of a junior accounts assistant in the future.
