2nd Line IT Technician - Burgess Hill

We are currently recruiting for a 2nd Line IT Helpdesk Technician for a client in the Burgess Hill area - the role requires a IT Support Engineer with well-rounded IT knowledge who is customer focused willing to work in a customer facing role with experience in working with SLA's.
This role requires you to have a clean driving license as you will need to attend some client site. A vehicle is available for use.

Role responsibilities include:

Escalation of unresolved tickets from 1st line
2nd line helpdesk dealing with and fixing client issues either via phone or VPN
Mostly office based however some field-based work might be required

This role requires all of the following experience and attributes:

Experience in coordinating IT support for end users, preferably commercial customers
Good customer awareness, ability to manage customer expectations
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Effective communication skills and style, able to explain complex issues to non-technical users
Self starter, self motivated, team player
Able to work under pressure and against timelines
Keen interest in technology and innovation
A good understanding of service support best practices

Technical Requirements for this position are:

Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10
Apple OSX Experience would be a benefit but not required
Working knowledge of desktop and notebook hardware and components
Windows Server 2008/2012/2012R2, SBS 2003/8/11, Active Directory Domain Services
DHCP, DNS, Group Policies
Exchange 2007/2010/2013
Server hardware knowledge
Strong Networking - including Broadband and Wi-Fi
MS SQL Server
Microsoft desktop OS, PC engineering
Common desktop applications (Office 2003/7/10), Sage etc

Knowledge or experience of some of the following is preferred:

Terminal Server\Remote Desktop Services
Firewall Products (Cisco, Astaro, Draytek and others)
Sophos, Trend, Symantec, Shadowprotect, VPNs

Ideally you will have at least 18-24 months experience in a 1st Line to 2nd Line Helpline Technician position.

Salary and Benefits:

The basic salary for this full time role is GBP26,000 to GBP27,000 per year, dependent on experience.
