This SEN/ASD Teaching Assistant role is a long term position where the school want a candidate who can commit to their pupils for a minimum of one academic year.

This nurturing SEN Learning provision that prides itself on offering and inclusive education that caters to the individual needs of all their learners. The majority of their pupils present with Autism, ADHD and a range of emotional and behavioural issues. However, many progress to either higher and/or further education or apprenticeships. To be an SEN/ASD Teaching Assistant you will need to be a confident graduate who has previous experience working with children who have special educational needs and earned a second-class degree or better. The perfect SEN/ASD Teaching Assistant will be able to demonstrate their care with their empathetic nature and relay their passion for education to their pupils. The school are hoping for a graduate who is able to inspire those around them with their enthusiastic nature.
About the Role
As a SEN/ASD Teaching Assistant at this school you will be supporting teaching and learning across the school and you will be assisting SEN pupils through school life. Day-to-day, you will be making the most of the support of a SENCO. As your confidence grows in the role you move in to leading booster and intervention groups and mentoring pupils 1:1 and working in classes across the school.
