Vetro Recruitment are recruiting for a Home Manager to join a well-established SEN Residential Child Care provision in Cranleigh, Surrey. We are looking to appoint a highly organised individual with experience of managing a care setting who will be capable of supervising a team of Care Workers to the required standards. As well as being able to demonstrate experience, applicants must hold a minimum qualification of Level 3 QCF (with level 5 being desirable). Position is to commence as soon as possible after interview. Salary Range: £24,469 - £27,085 per year. Hours of Work: 37 hours per week (on average), 7 days per week for 52 weeks of the year on rota (including weekends on rota). About the Organisation: St Joseph’s is a School and Registered Children’s Home for children and young adults (5-19) whose special educational needs include autistic spectrum disorders, complex learning difficulties, language and communication disorders and associated challenging behaviour. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This position requires an enhanced DBS check. The Role: To ensure within the resources available the resident young people receive an outstanding standard of physical and emotional care. To deal with difficulties encountered by their particular Care team and to refer to and keep Head of Carer informed. To assist the School Leadership Team and participate in the Induction process for care staff. To assist the Head of Care with the organisation of work programmes. To manage staffing resources flexibly and efficiently. To supervise/support the work of the care team as directed by the Head of Care. To coordinate, attend and where appropriate chair, staff and learner meetings. To ensure effective supervision and appraisal is carried out. To contribute to training strategies which reflect the targets and objectives of St Joseph’s Specialist School and College Care strategy. To support with the recruitment and retention of staff. Experience and Requirements: Essential: Level 3 QCF Health and Social Care. Experience in managing a care setting. Good organisation, communication and listening skills. Good ICT skills. Able to work under high pressure and work as part of a team. Organise and prioritise work. Be enthusiastic and empathetic. Good interpersonal skills. Able to work own initiative. Work to deadlines. Full/Clean UK Driving Licence due to the rural location of the setting. Desirable: Level 5 QCF Leadership and Management. Experience of working in a SEN school setting.
