The Prince's Trust - Expanding our reach in Education

The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. We give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills, such as confidence and motivation. We work with 11 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. We have helped more than 825,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people we helped last year moved into work, education or training. We are committed to equality and valuing diversity.

In July 2016 Mosaic, an initiative founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2007 moved to The Prince's Trust and together we are aspiring to reach more young people than ever before. We share the same purpose - to help disadvantaged young people to overcome their barriers and move towards education, employment and training. The Prince's Trust now has two distinct programmes that support young people in education between the ages of 11-19 and it is with these programmes that we have ambitious plans to grow our reach considerably in the coming year. Through this expansion we are particularly passionate about ensuring our reach supports those young people from diverse community's right across the UK and welcome applicants with extensive experience in this area.

We are now seeking 3 dynamic individuals to join our regional Education team, to take forward this exciting growth strategy and help to develop our work in hard-to-reach communities, including deprived Muslim communities. Our Education Programme Executives are responsible for the recruitment and management of schools and other education partnerships, including staff training and enrichment activity. The Executive will also ensure our programmes are delivered in-line with quality standards and young people and partners receive the very best level of support.

The successful candidate for this challenging role will be able to demonstrate and evidence effective organisational skills together with an ability to build productive and sustained relationships with partner staff at all levels; volunteer mentors and other colleagues. There will be a requirement to travel regularly across the caseload area and from time to time across the region and the wider UK.

The Prince's Trust Education offer consists of:

The Prince's Trust Mosaic programmes which inspire young people to realise their talents and potential. Through structured mentoring programmes we create opportunities for young people growing up in our most deprived communities. Our programmes are delivered by volunteers, and lift the aspirations of young people and close the gap between those aspirations and their attainment. By linking young people with inspirational role models in this way, we boost their confidence, self-efficacy and long-term employability. In doing so, we also aim to increase opportunities for understanding between people of different backgrounds.

The Prince's Trust Education programme supports young people to re-engage and succeed in education. The programme works with young people who are at risk of underachieving. Delivered informally in education and youth work settings, and in Prince's Trust centres, Achieve provides young people with the space and attention they need to learn skills, develop confidence, raise aspirations and improve their attitude to learning. It aims to engage young people in education and ensure that every young person is given the opportunity to realise their potential.
