Emotional well being support- Children - Learning disabilities

Are you the kind of candidate that values the quality of care and wants to meet the service users and understand their needs before you start working with them? Do you have a genuine interest in the emotional well being of Children with Autism Randstad are currently supporting a Childrens service surrounded by fields and beautiful woodlands with a farm and horses on site. The service support children with learning disabilities who have communication difficulties and need 24 hour support to ensure they get the best out of their lives. The service is based just outside of reading and is looking for candidates to work days or nights with a pay rate of between GBP8.65 and GBP9.20 per hour dependant on experience. They are looking for passionate candidates to attend a day where you will get the opportunity to spend an hour with the Children and also have the opportunity to listen to senior managers talking you through the services history and the fantastic support that they provide for the children. You will get a job offer on the day and could be starting your new career within the week!(Subject to DBS) Job description: Supporting children in a residential and school setting between the ages of 5 - 18 - Low functioning autism (Some children are non verbal)- Communicate via Makaton, Pictograms, PECS- Dedicated therapy team- Set in beautiful woodlands- Farm on site with horses - Very child centred, They pride themselves on providing excellent care for the children

As a support worker you will be required to undertake the following tasks:

- Implementing person-centred care plans

- Providing 24 hour support around: Personal care, engagement activities and anything the service user requires

- Support service users in line with CQC/CSSIW Guidelines and Companies policies

- Ensure the service meets all organisational and statutory requirements and complies with Care Quality Commission Guidelines and our own standards, policies and procedures.


The ideal candidate would:

- Have an active interest in making a difference to the lives of people

- Have the drive to support the successful running of a service and their team

- Be pro-active and have a keen interested in learning disabilities

You will:

- Have a strong background or interest in working with Children with learning disabilities

- An excellent communicator and be able to provide a person-centred support.

- Be able to prioritise your workload

- Have up to date knowledge of the needs of clients with learning disabilities

- Have completed, or be willing to undertake an NVQ Qualification.
