The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne are recruiting for an enthusiastic and people focused Head Receptionist to join our busy Front of House team. When you join us:

You will be supporting the Front Office Manager in the leading and managing of the Reception team, providing all our guests with a warm welcome and looking after them in a friendly, professional manner.
You will be working in a fun and friendly team who work well together during very busy periods
You will build a good rapport with guests and try to resolve any complaints/issues in a timely manner with an effective and courteous manner.
You will complete job chats and annual appraisals with the team
You will be responsible for control procedures on reception and the security of cash, keys and guest data.
You will be responsible for training all team members to the required hotel standards in accordance with the SOPs and monitor the team performance
You will need to be able to plan ahead and ensure staffing levels are accurate and sufficient to deliver all services and manage holiday cover
You will be working full time, five days over seven which will include evenings and weekends. Please note the Reception team also cover holidays for night reception so some flexibility is required.

What we need from you:

A strong background in 4*/5* hotels in a supervisory role for at least two to three years and excellent customer service skills.
Possess a 'can do' attitude, attention to detail and be able to use your own initiative.
An ability to lead and inspire others with positivity and confidence
Possess a good command of the English language, both written and verbal
A good telephone manner
Ability to work under pressure, dealing with lots of information at once, and always with a smile on your face.
