About this role

As a Cloud Support Engineer, you'll help our customers to deliver and support critical services, application and infrastructure support.

Every day will bring new and exciting challenges on the job whist you:

Learn and use our wide range of technologies - you'll receive training to support large scale VMware, OpenStack and Object Storage environments
Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide solutions to our customers' needs
Work hands-on with customers to resolve services issues and change requests

This role sits within the Customer Services team and all our team members can grow and develop with us; whether that means involvement in projects or applying for roles within UKCloud.

Essential Criteria:

Experience of running a business-critical platform in a 24/7 ITIL environment
Significant VMware vSphere experience in a large-scale deployment
Some scripting knowledge or experience
Understanding of core datacentre technologies: Servers, Networks, Storage (SAN, NAS & DAS)
Previous operational support experience of Windows and/or Linux Operating Systems
Good organisational and time management skills
Disciplined, organised and self-motivated
Keen to share knowledge and experience with other team members
Excellent communication skills to successfully engage with customers and teams
Solid understanding of virtualisation and cloud computing concepts
Broad experience of analysing, troubleshooting, and providing solutions for technical issues
Experience of working within a 24/7 customer facing environment

Desirable Criteria:

Capable in delivery of vCloud Director deployments and previous related troubleshooting experience
Experience with Cisco UCS platforms
Experience of PowerShell scripting, OpenStack, API
VCP, CCNA certified
