Wellbeing of Women is looking for an experienced, energetic, creative person with excellent communication skills and enthusiasm to inspire new supporters to raise money for the charity, develop and manage our regular giving programme while maintaining and developing relationships with very loyal existing supporters and raise awareness of the charity.

Previous experience is essential as well as the ability to network, since success in the role depends heavily on being able to communicate with and develop positive relationships with both new and current supporters.

We have a wonderful network of supporters including a network of regional fundraisers (branches) and individuals, who participate in our challenge events and, in this role, we are looking for someone to develop our community and branch support as well as explore new fundraising opportunities from various sources.

Wellbeing of Women is the only charity in the UK which funds research across the breadth of women's reproductive health and childbirth. Established over 50 years ago, our work has led to some remarkable achievements and many of the tests, treatments and preventions that women take for granted today came about thanks to our research.

Importantly, we are also seeking someone who passionately believes in the work that Wellbeing of Women invests in to help make a difference to the lives of women, babies and families.

Responsibilities will typically include:

Liaising with and supporting individuals and branches engaged in fundraising activities for the charity

Recruiting individuals to raise funds for the charity through traditional fundraising activities such as sponsored sports/challenge events and managing the challenge event programme

Identifying and implementing new and imaginative fundraising activities, which may involve organising events

Raising awareness of the charity and its work at local and regional levels, e.g. by giving talks to groups at local fundraising and regional branch events

Developing and coordinating web-based fundraising opportunities and regular giving opportunities

Writing fundraising applications and keeping supporters regularly informed of our news, upcoming events and our achievements, including using direct mailing to reach a range of potential and current donors

Managing and updating databases to record donor contact and preference information, segment and analyse data as well as ensuring that the charity complies with best practice in terms of fundraising and data protection regulations
Working closely and collaboratively across all fundraising streams.

What we are looking for:

Enthusiastic and resourceful individual with a 'can do' approach and the ability to research and devise strategies to opportunistically take advantage of donation possibilities

Strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to act in a diplomatic and effective manner whilst representing Wellbeing of Women

Excellent verbal and written presentation skills with a demonstrable commitment to high standards of presentation

Highly organised

Good IT skills

Ability to evaluate the cost in time and effort vs the likelihood of return

Ability to plan ahead, whilst also being flexible and reacting swiftly to changing needs and demanding situations

Resilience and the ability to deal with high pressure and difficult situations whilst supporting and maintaining the confidence of others

Due to the nature of the role, some travel to support the fundraising activities and occasional evening and weekend work will be required

Responsible to: CEO

Salary: Competitive, dependant on experience

Working Hours: Full Time (part time considered)

If you are interested in this position, please apply early as applications are under constant review and the role may be filled before the closing date.
