Senior Test Engineer (Heating & Ventilation systems) - Walton-on-Thames /West Molesey /Kingston-on-Thames A new vacancy for a Senior Test Engineer with leading UK manufacturer of high-specification heating & ventilation systems used in hotels, commercial offices, retail outlets, schools and hospitals across the country. Established for over 50yrs, the company is part of major international group specializing in a wide range of HVAC solutions. Based at the company's site in Surrey, the Senior Test Engineer will oversee the day-to-day organization & operational requirements of the company's test lab facilities, managing the testing of development & witness testing projects, and providing technical support to on-site manufacturing. Whilst being a senior engineering position within the business, the Senior Test Engineer must have good hands-on technical skills and be prepared to get involved in some routine engineering work when required. The Senior Test Engineer will be part of a highly experienced team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where the ability to react quickly to changing circumstances and a good sense of humour are essential requirements. Candidate profile & job overview: 1) This position will be suited to an engineer, preferably with experience within the HVAC sector; with a comprehensive understanding of the principles involved in: Fans and Airflow measurement and movement, Thermodynamics and hydraulic performance of water to air heat exchangers, electrical fundamentals and measurements, and Acoustic measurement & analysis (not essential). 2) Preferred minimum qualification requirement of HNC/HND in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering. 3) Oversee the day to day organisation and operational requirements of the test lab facilities; managing the testing of development and witness testing projects. 4) Ensure compliance with current associative standards, and legislations, for all testing and product lines. 5) Ensure that quality standards are adhered to during the development of products. 6) Work collaboratively with other staff members, specifically providing technical support to on-site production, manufacturing, R&D testing, procurement and service departments, and be competent at dealing with customers requiring telephone support. 7) Prepare test planning documentation from requirements specification for in-house and witness testing, evaluate findings and prepare formal report on test results. 8) Have good verbal and written communication skills; and be proficient in MS Office - particularly Excel and Word.
