Location: Based at Ashurst, Broadwalk House office in London however travel to European offices might be required from time to time

Role: Expertise Learning Management Team Leader (Maternity Cover)

Reporting to: Head of Expertise Central

Hours of work - Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, however you will be required to work such hours as are necessary to carry out your duties

Department/ Role Overview:

This role is the Team Leader for the Learning Management Team.

This team (which is part of the Expertise function) consists of coordinators, analysts and administrators who manage and record Expertise learning events and CPD requirements for lawyers globally. The role requires working collaboratively with the rest of Expertise function and other functions, in particular, HR L&D, and BD to support the firm in fulfilling its global vision and strategy

Main responsibilities:

Supervise, guide, motivate and model effective and collaborative team working to ensure excellent service delivery to internal and external clients
Manage the recording and reporting requirements for Ashurst CPD (ACPD) and local regulatory requirements
Oversee the policy and processes related to ACPD compliance including responding to the impact of changes to regulatory requirements
Oversee administrative support for Expertise L&D events provided in London, Glasgow, Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia
Oversee efficacy of Oracle Learn supporting all learning within the firm
Manage the team's workload and monitor individual workloads
Monitor team and individual performance providing regular feedback
Monitor performance, output, speed of response and targets
Help to train, coach and develop the team, encouraging self-direction and development in line with Ashurst's five core values
Develop mechanisms within the team to share knowledge and best practice
Manage learning-related contracts and agreements
Provide budget support to senior management.
Risk and Control: Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with our regulatory requires and internal policies.

Essential skills and experience:

A proven track record in managing/supervising a team in a training environment in a law firm or other professional services firm
Experience in developing new training programmes
Experience of a Learning Management Systems (LMS)
Ability to inspire trust and confidence at every level displaying a high level of flexibility and commitment at all times
An excellent motivator, leading by example with an aptitude for developing individuals and a team
Ability to use initiative and plan proactively
Ability to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure with goodwill and enthusiasm
Effective communicator with excellent client service skills
Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of the high level of service required in a professional environment
Flexible and able to work across different time zones
Efficient, well-organised and able to delegate effectively
Adept problem solver who is capable of developing creative solutions to problems
Displays a "can do" attitude and sees challenges as opportunities
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
