We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator to join a global leader in water treatment services on a permanent basis in Surrey. Our client has over 40 years knowledge and experience designing, building and maintaining water companies, supplies and treatment plants. From working on a variety of major projects in 90 different countries, they have built their client base to include some of the world's most notable organisations. Due to an increasing workload, they are seeking a skilled Senior Estimator to assist with a range of primarily international projects. The successful candidate will have a variety of roles and responsibilities including: - Managing and producing civil works estimating, and the incorporation of electrical, mechanical and other specialist estimates - Preparing civil works bills of quantities from client/in-house drawings - Producing plant schedules - Preparing estimate summaries and bills of quantities to facilitate tender settlements - Presentation of tender estimates to the tender review panel, and participation in settlement bids - Carrying out reviews, risk analysis and making amendments to estimates prepared by overseas offices - Preparing tender programmes and outlining resource schedules - Preparation and presentation of reports and recommendations on key technical/commercial issues of internal estimate summaries - Proactive liaison with UK and overseas proposals, sales and engineering staff - Occasional lead with the preparation of high value budget estimates Essential skills, experience and attributes: - Experience with large-scale civil engineering projects, including water retaining structures and pipelines (over £100m) - Overseas experience (preferably including third-world countries) - Experience of FIDIC contract documents - Understanding of the principles of potable and wastewater, and reverse osmosis treatment - Managerial experience - Ability to work well under pressure - Good negotiation skills - Excellent interpersonal skills - Good general knowledge of all aspects of water treatment e.g. civil engineering, process engineering etc. - Computer literate - Full UK driving license - Ability to travel overseas when required To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK without visa restrictions.
