DevOps / Systems Engineer - Linux / AWS - £75,000 - Surrey
A rapidly growing technology business is seeking to add a very experienced DevOps / Systems Engineer to their team based close to Kingston, Surrey (commutable from parts of South London, Hampshire, Berkshire and Sussex). Working closely with two highly experienced DevOps Architects, the successful candidate will be tasked with providing high quality services (pre-sales, implementation and post-implementation support) of complex systems for a variety of customers from social media platforms to banking systems. It is ESSENTIAL that you have in-depth experience in a Linux environment, including Linux internals (Linux kernel, filesystem, network configuration and tuning), and ideally come from a development / DevOps background. Detailed knowledge of networking, security and complementary technologies, internet facing platforms and associated technologies and supporting Java applications is required, as well as hardware management (Kickstart, Cobbler), configuration management (Puppet, Chef, Ansible), monitoring and alerting systems (Nagios, Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog), Scripting (Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl) and knowledge of at least one cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCE). Additionally you must have worked in large enterprise environments. Candidates with RHCE, AWS or equivalent relevant certification will be preferable, but is not essential. Any exposure to Cassandra or Kafka would be considered highly beneficial, but not essential as you will receive full training and become certified. Excellent communication skills are required as you will be interacting with both technical and non-technical individuals.
