Job Title: Senior Technician - Robot Cell, Manufacturing Job Location: Guildford, Surrey, UK Job Salary: £35k-£40k per annum (dependent upon experience) We are currently engaged in some of the most challenging and innovative automotive projects of recent times and now have an excellent opportunity for a talented and experienced Senior Technician based at our vehicle design, development and engineering centre in Shalford, Surrey. Responsibilities as the Senior Technician - Robot Cell, Manufacturing The key elements of the Manufacturing function are to ensure that the iStream® technology is developed and matured from an engineering and manufacturing perspective to allow Start of Production to commence and go forward unabated, as well as contributing proactively to the continual progression of the iStream® process. Additionally, the Manufacturing function provides support to our client's team during the final industrialisation of our client's innovative iStream® automotive manufacturing process. - Develop, manage and maintain Robot cells including its peripheral equipment / facilities for assembly trials and simulations. - Programme robots and other peripheral equipment / facilities for trials and simulations. - Operate robot cells for projects, trials and other activities. - Involve or initiate robot cell updates and improvements. - Develop robot cell process for iStream® technology by providing high quality and imaginative technical solutions to meet requirements, under the guidance of a more senior engineer when necessary. This includes existing and next generation iStream® technology, working with teams such as materials and composite, structural analysis. - Contribute to and support events and activities that the Company may become involved in. - With other members of the Manufacturing Team, prepare 2D concepts, layouts, analysis and specifications for robot cells. - With progression of project stages it may require to support manufacturing team to develop bespoke iStream® manufacturing process for specific customer, then to design and install full scope of iStream® manufacturing process and provide post SOP support. - Prepare and release designs for tooling and fixtures in robot cells, etc. - Liaise with Engineering, Design and Project Management to ensure technical targets, program timings and budgetary requirements are met. - Liaise with the Prototype Workshop to provide feasible robot cell solutions and support workshop activities pre, during and post-vehicle build. Reflect findings to mature iStream® manufacturing process as well as feedback to design team. - Positively influence iStream® design from manufacturing aspect to ensure all Quality, Cost and delivery targets are met. - Support development of suppliers which are capable of manufacturing and/or supply facilities to manufacture iStream® component parts for various mass production scenarios. - Schedule own activities to provide engineering deliverables that meet required specifications within timescales and budgets. - Plan and maintain progress in improving personal professional competence. - Ensure that technical knowledge and expertise is kept up to date with in-depth knowledge of current OEM manufacturing processes, technologies and equipment, as well as OEM supply chain strategies. It is anticipated that you will have an automotive/motorsport background with at least five years experience in a relevant discipline, be ideally educated to degree level in a materials/engineering discipline and have demonstrable experience of working with teams.
