We are looking for a highly motivated, committed and organised Trainee Legal Secretary to work in our London office to provide secretarial and administrative support to a number of fee earners in our Employment and Pensions team.

Key responsibilities:

• Pro-active and appropriate use of Outsourced Document Production teams, typing urgent/confidential work delivered to Eversheds Sutherland House-style
• Assisting legal advisers to open new matters, proactively managing manual and electronic filing and archiving and collation
• Preparation and submission of financial forms including expense claims and client billing/reporting.
• Learning how to use the travel and diary systems in a comprehensive manner to enable proactive diary management and co-ordination of internal and external meetings, booking travel and arranging for necessary equipment and refreshments.
• General administration, responding to central and Practice Group initiatives/requests and assisting the legal secretarial team in proactive management of secretarial related tasks
• Contribute to the development of the business and delivering excellent service to our clients
• Supporting legal secretaries with marketing and Business Development related activity, including Meet & Greets where appropriate and with supervision

Skills and experience:

The ideal candidate should have general administrative experience and now be looking to step into a legal secretarial role. It is expected that, with supervision from the secretarial team, the trainee legal secretary will be able to aim towards proactively support a team of legal advisers and produce high quality documents, manage extremely busy diaries, arrange complex travel itineraries and have an enthusiastic approach to dealing with day to day tasks and longer term initiatives/projects.
A minimum of 50 wpm typing speed for copy and audio, RSA II in typing (or equivalent), audio typing or word processing and MS Office skills are essential.
