Job Title: Logistics Executive

Location: Hassocks (must drive and have your own transport)

Salary: GBP18-22k

Hours: Flexible shift patterns between 7.00am - 7.00pm Monday to Friday (possible night shifts may be required, with a generous shift allowance offered)

Our client, a highly reputable and expanding family run business in the heart of Sayers Common, are recruiting for a Logistics Executive within the Logistics department.

This role's purpose is to work closely with the Logistics Team Leader in ensuring deliveries are carried out safely and effectively within the timescales provided.

Duties are to include:
* Supporting the team leader with tasks and projects
* Support and advise the team to ensure a smooth process is carried out
* Ensuring a high level of service is provided at all times and shipments are sent out correctly according to company procedures
* Monitor and guarantee team shipments to local and global customers
* Assisting with team training
* Promote import and export procedures
* Motivating the team to ensure an effective working environment
* Build and maintain professional relationships
* Recognise the urgency of orders and react within a timely manner
* Processing shipments from local to global customers
* Obtain shipment details in order to complete relevant paperwork
* Resolving queries
* Working on the telephone - answering and making calls
* Liaise and coordinate with other departments within the business
* Research and obtain quotes for hazardous and heavyweight shipments
* Working to tight deadlines and ensuring turnaround times are achieved
* Monitoring the logistics administrators with shipments
* Assisting the department with additional duties and other ad-hoc tasks and projects

The ideal candidate:
* Proven experience working within a logistics role
* Strong knowledge and experience of import and export procedures
* Ability to prioritise and manage busy workloads daily
* Hold a desire to motivate and develop other team members
* Happy to take on a supervisory role
* Professional and confident telephone manner
* Happy to work long shifts throughout the day and night (shift allowance will be given for this)
* Comfortable working with Microsoft office package and in-house databases
* Happy working to tight deadlines
