Financial Controller Location: West Byfleet, Sussex Salary: £38,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time Serving over 80 schools around the nation, Innovate Services has been considered one of the most inventive caterers in schools. Established in 2007, they have recently undergone a major restructure, stripping back to its core business of catering in schools. Main responsibilities of the Financial Controller: Monthly Management Account Preparation: - Ensure all the month end routines are undertaken by the other members of the finance team to enable sign off by the Finance Director in a timely manner - Take responsibility and prepare the necessary adjustments in relation to: Payroll, Pensions, All other necessary accruals, prepayments and adjustments required in the preparation of the monthly management accounts, Maintain accurate records in relation to all loans and finance leases - Take responsibility to ensure that the preparation of the standard monthly analysis requirements are undertaken - Completion of the Management Account reporting pack including analysis and commentary - Costs control and investigating variances - Responsible for Monthly Balance Sheet and P&L Reconciliations - Cost Centre Reporting to relevant RBM's Annual Account Preparation: - Prepare the necessary audit files for review by the Finance Director for the auditors - Acting as the point of contact to the auditors and tax accountants - Liaise with the auditors on any queries raised as part of the audit - Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements Tax: - Require a sound understanding of VAT in the hospitality industry and its complexities - Ensure all necessary reporting deadlines in relation to PAYE, CIS, VAT, and P11D's are adhered to - Make sure timely payments and remittance are undertaken Budgets and Forecasts: - Responsible for producing accurate Annual Budgets and Forecasts on a timely manner Requirements to become the Financial Controller: - Degree Qualified - Previous experience in a similar role - Previous experience using Sage is essential - Advanced level of excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot tables, Sumifs) - Excellent Communication and Organisational skills - Flexible, hands-on and prepared to provide support & cover to other team members - Ability to use own initiative and be pro-active in relation to new processes for finance - Ability to work to tight deadlines - Ability to work well within a close team Benefits of becoming the Financial Controller: - Pension 3% - Death in service x 2 salary - Health Care - Self. - 25 days holiday plus bank holidays If you feel that you meet the above criteria of the Financial Controller then please apply now
