The Marylebone Project is one of the largest women's hostels in the UK for women affected by homelessness. Those we support are often affected by substance misuse, unemployment, domestic violence and mental health issues. Whatever their story, we aim for the same ending; self-esteem, employment and independent living. We do this by providing shelter, education opportunities, spiritual space and events in a welcoming and secure environment.

The Role:

This is a great entry level role into the third sector in which you will gain varied experience communicating with residents and service users on a daily basis, whilst also working on aspects of communications, social media and administration.

The Receptionist works closely with the Administration team whilst also being one of the key links between different units. They answer all calls on the main switchboard, provide a professional welcome to visitors and play a key part in monitoring the security of the building and the wellbeing of its residents.

The Receptionist deals with all enquiries through the Marylebone Project website and is part of the team who update social media platforms; They are encouraged to play an active part in fundraising activities within the project.

The successful candidate will:

Display excellent verbal and communication skills
Have experience of, and the ability to, multi task and manage conflicting priorities
Have strong IT/Microsoft skills
Possess the ability to work under pressure and cope with challenging and sensitive situations
Have experience of working/volunteering with vulnerable people
Have experience of working/volunteering within an administration role
