Summary of PostTo implement, manage and strategically develop Street League's programmes across Greater London. Responsible for delivering agreed operating and income generation targets and finance management. Reporting to the Managing Director (MD), the Operations Manager will be a key part of the Operations Management Team within Street League.Develop and manage the team- To be responsible for the Line Management of all staff within the operations team.- To hold supervision meetings (1-2-1's), annual appraisals and bi-weekly team meetings and monitor operating progress against targets.- To be responsible for recruitment of staff for the local area in partnership with the MD and HR. Fundraising and Finance- Responsible for the sustainability and growth of programmes by securing funding from Trusts and Foundations, identifying and developing new corporate supporters and winning local contracts from commissioned income streams.- To work with the MD and Finance Department to plan and manage budgets annually.- To be responsible for operational budget control and spend- To be responsible for local marketing and communications activity including social media management with the support of the national Communications team.Performance Management- To be responsible for the achievement of operational targets.- To agree and communicate operational targets with the local operations team, monitoring progress throughout the year.- To be responsible for the quality assurance of operational programmes.- Monitoring and evaluation of data using Street League's M&E system.- To monitor operational work plans and make the information about progress and challenges available to the wider organisation.Main Duties and Responsibilities:JOB DESCRIPTION- To be jointly responsible for communicating with the MD on operational updates.- To induct and train new staff on the Scheme of Work and in line with Street League's Induction and Probation policies Plan, develop and oversee the provision of high quality projects and programmes- To assist in the delivery of the academy programmes with support from other staff during the initial start-up phase of the region.- To manage contracts and service level agreements with partner organisations.- To develop partnerships with external organisations and agencies to further enhance service delivery and the development of Street League.- To oversee an increase in the number of referral agencies in line with set targets- Ensure delivery teams are regularly updated on developments within Street League via team meetings.- To oversee the organisation and management of tours and events involving Street League participants and staff when necessary.- To monitor work plans and feedback operational developments to the MD.Personal Characteristics:- Passionate about Street League's vision and mission to support young people.- Very organised, driven and hardworking. Motivated to take on challenges and find ways to succeed.- Entrepreneurial and able to recognise opportunities and have the confidence to take up these opportunities.- Proven track record of managing staff, and building and leading a team in a similar setting.- Experience of managing within a contract-orientated and outcome-driven culture.- Experience of community or youth work in relation to working with young people and a variety of client groups would be an advantage.- Experience of monitoring and reporting progress for quality assurance purposes.- Managing a cross-section of programmes within the voluntary sector.- Knowledge of the main strategic partners and priorities in their local area.- Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures and legislation required when working with vulnerable groups.Skills and abilities- The ability to motivate staff to meet targets.- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, with excellent presentation skills.- To have a confident and calm approach to problems and an ability to use initiative in finding solutions.- Excellent forward planning and project management skills.- The ability to network effectively with influential senior business people and to maintain strong relationships with different partners.- Skilled in developing and managing budgets.- Ability to develop policies and strategies and produce reports and plans.- An ability to initiate, develop and implement new ideas.- Completely literate in the use of all packages in Microsoft Office.Qualifications- Degree level or equivalent (preferably in management but not essential), or demonstrable experience
