I am working on behalf of an amazing and dedicated institute of Higher Education specialising in the Arts. They are looking for a highly skilled individual to fill the role of Deputy Head of Development. In this role, you will work as a member of a small team, aiming to manage larger teams and expand the income and the relationships of the institution.Key Responsibilities:Securing revenue and capital income from a wide variety of philanthropic sourcesManaging and growing strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders of the School and its fundraising teamsOverseeing development of projects for the Major Gifts team and ensuring these opportunities are effectively utilisedManaging and writing activity reports for regular incoming finance using the departmental database (Raiser's Edge)Proposing and agreeing to annual financial and activity targets for the Major Gift TeamsManaging the fundraising budget effectivelyFlexibly attending events and performances to cultivate new donors and to steward existing supportersTo deputise for the Head of Development in their absenceEssential Criteria:Educated to degree level or higherExcellent knowledge of the Data Protection Act and tax-efficient giving and their implications in development workGood understanding of the Institute of Fundraising's Codes of Fundraising Practice or equivalentExperience of working closely with senior volunteers and a Campaign Board or equivalentKnowledge of using fundraising/relationship databases, especially Raiser's EdgeExperience of developing and managing fundraising programmes, fundraising targets, and a proven track record in securing philanthropic giftsExceptional verbal and written skills and an ability to confidently interact with people at all levelsExperience of creating, developing, and implementing strategyDemonstrable engagement with suitable networks and professional bodies with a commitment to continued professional developmentSignificant experience working as a trained and skilled manager and motivatorIf you have these skills then please send me your up to date CV.
