My client is a leading name within the foreign exchange industry and across 20 years they have been offering first class service to their clients around the globe. Dealing with over 50 different currency pairs they have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of foreign exchange. They are currently seeking a Compliance specialist to join their business on a temporary position that depending on the candidate may turn into a permanent position.

Purpose

The Senior Compliance Associate is responsible for managing the day to day responsibility of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Compliance related tasks such as, ensuring appropriate Customer Due Diligence (CDD), investigating transaction monitoring referrals and dealing with potential PEP matches. The role will support the Compliance Manager in meeting the company's regulatory compliance and money laundering obligations.

Responsibilities

- Providing subject matter expertise and escalation point for Compliance Associates
- Work closely with the Risk and Compliance team and other areas of the business to implement changes to processes and procedures
- Assist in developing AML processes & training
- Liaising with banking counterparts
- Providing guidance on complex registrations
- Investigating referred potential PEP/Sanction matches
- Liaising with business development teams and clients regarding account activations
- Assisting with solutions for all private client exceptions
- Assisting in regular monitoring and management of debit card issues
- Resolve/escalate potentially suspicious activity identified during the on-boarding or maintenance processes to the FIU AML Investigations Unit
- Track and report patterns and trends to Head of Compliance
- Conduct detailed analysis of transactional information and alerts to identify emerging risks, trends and potential suspicious activity
- Function as a key contributor to the Compliance team with demonstrated knowledge of AML/KYC issues, as well as broader functional knowledge

Qualities

- A minimum Certificate in Anti-Money Laundering required
- 3 years + experience in AML Compliance within Financial Service
- Working knowledge current UK AML regulations
- Understanding of JMLSG guidance
- Awareness of FCA principals approach
- Understanding/awareness complex account structures, i.e. charities & trusts
- Previous SAR/query investigating experience
- Awareness of global AML legislation
- Awareness of Data Protection legislation
- Previous transaction monitoring experience
- Experience in processing high volumes
