C4WS Homeless Project is a project of CARIS Camden (registered charity, no ) which provides support to homeless men and women throughout the year through a well-established winter night shelter in Camden, a lunchtime club, Jobs Club, mentoring scheme and various other activities. We are passionate about helping people rebuild their lives after homelessness and working towards living independently.

We are looking for a full-time Project Worker to join our small and friendly team supporting the staff, volunteers and guests in the successful and smooth running of our 2017/18 night shelter.

The Project Worker will work alongside the church coordinators and have face-to-face contact with those without a home and who are vulnerable. The Project Worker will also be the main staff presence at our weekly Jobs Club.

The ideal candidate is somebody who is passionate about supporting people experiencing homelessness, is willing to work well within a small staff team, is flexible and adaptable to the needs that arise with working with vulnerable people, is hard working, can take direction well, has the ability to effectively prioritise and work efficiently within a busy working environment.

The successful applicant will be required to work some early mornings (8am start) and late evenings (9pm finish), and some weekend shifts and bank holidays, as per a weekly-changing rota, and therefore is required to display considerable flexibility. The post commences on 9th October 2017 and runs till 27th April 2018 with a 6-week probationary period and the possibility to extend subject to performance, funding and structural reorganisation.

The salary for this post is GBP23,147 per annum including London Weighting, with additional travel allowance and pension (after probationary period)
