Building Better Opportunities Project
Would you like to make a difference to the local community? Are you passionate about employment opportunities for all? Would you like to be involved in an exciting community program working across East Berkshire? If the answer is yes this could be the role for you. Building Better Opportunities is a new partnership funded through the European Social Fund and The Big Lottery Fund, bringing together local voluntary and community organisations that have specialist knowledge, work with disadvantaged neighbourhoods and communities, and are trusted by individuals. Embedding the supported employment model into the program will enable a holistic approach for individuals and targeted employer engagement activity, to provide real benefits to people facing multiple disadvantages.

We are looking for a number of people to fill various roles as part of this project.

Building Better Opportunities Project Co-ordinator GBP32,492 - GBP37,270 FTE, based at Slough Borough Council. Fixed Term Post until June 2020. Contact Zulf Awan on: / for an informal chat or application form. Alternative forms of application can be provided.
The post holder role will oversee the whole project working for Slough Borough Council and in partnership with a number of private and community/voluntary sector organisations. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and customer service skills to develop and deliver an exciting new project that focuses on job coaching, training and employment support to people with multiple disadvantages, who are not employed and are aged 25 and over. You will need to have experience in managing a multi-agency project with the ability to communicate, negotiate and motivate partners to maximise the impact of the project. You will also have experience in audit and compliance and in particular working with European Social Fund and Big Lottery Fund guidelines and reporting systems.

Senior Employment Advisor Ways in to Work GBP10,550 - GBP12,500 (GBP21,100- GBP25,000 FTE), 18.5 hours per week. Based in Maidenhead, covering the whole of the East of Berkshire. The post holder will be expected to support all the Building Better opportunities practitioners and promote a one project approach while still maintaining the expectations of the recruiting organisation. The successful candidate will also be expected to positively promote the Supported Employment model and the business benefits of employing a diverse workforce.

The post holders will work directly with the clients including case management, initial assessment, ongoing support and advice.
