Siemens Building Technologies is currently recruiting for an experienced Risk Analyst to join the energy consulting team, based in Frimley. The Energy Risk Analyst will be accountable for conducting analysis of power markets, develop assessments for regional and international power markets, support fuels and environmental market analysis, prepare client reports and briefings on market developments, and effectively interface with consulting clients and supervise consulting projects. What are my responsibilities? - Providing bespoke energy procurement and risk strategies by understanding energy market dynamics for soucring gas, power and wider fuels in European energy market for large industrials - Coordinating with global team members on energy markets along with helping other relevant teams in providing supporting information on technical drivers and fundamentals in the energy markets. - Provide market analysis, pricing information, forecasting and procurement strategy in the UK and European for Oil, Gas and Power markets - Daily monitoring and analysis of market data to provide reports summarizing market developments and price forecasts using technical and fundamental analysis. - Manage both internal and external stakeholder relationships and offer advice and support on market direction and activity. - Maintain awareness of energy market trends through liaison with energy suppliers and a range of market intelligence sources. - Execute wholesale energy trades in line with clients agreed hedging strategy, and maintain energy purchase position reports. - Client communication which includes periodic presentation to senior management - Building Mathematical Risk models using risk, stemercon, E-views, VBA, Math lab and Access - Set up and maintain Mark to Market (MtoM), VaR & Capital Risk (CAR) Reports based on established guidelines Other responsibilities undertaken beyond the scope of this role? - Power market dispatch analysis; - Data maintenance and analysis, with a focus on the power sector - Research related to energy markets, including the power, fuels, and environmental sectors - Project valuation support What do I need to qualify for the role? - An undergraduate degree in economics or a related field is desired; - Strong quantitative and MS Excel-based modeling skills; Matlab experience is desired. - Strong English communication skills and an additional European language would be an advantage, but not essential - Background in the energy Utilities or commodities markets would be an advantage - Strong presentation skills to Client's senior management with the ability to communicate complex information in a practical and easy to understandstyle LI-VH1
