Salary: GBP26,037 to GBP28,936 plus GBP3,216 location allowance. You will receive GBP26,037 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of GBP28,936 will be via incremental progression.

Our overriding priority at the MPS is to keep the public safe. While much of our policing focuses on our vibrant capital, we have a National Counter Terrorism Policing HQ that supports our ability to prevent (and effectively respond to) terrorism across the UK. When you consider that our experienced team work extensively across the Home Office, Cabinet Office and Security Services, you can see why this is such a diverse and important role. The perfect opportunity, in fact, for an ambitious analyst or a graduate looking to develop their analyst skills in policing.

You'll join the Performance arm of our Strategy, Planning and Performance team. These are the people who provide enhanced reporting and analysis so we can measure our progress against strategic objectives. Supporting the 'Higher Performance Analysts', you'll use analytical findings to identify trends, forecast future implications and highlight areas of good or poor performance. Your work will be used by a wide range of senior stakeholders within the Police, Security Services and Government.

Certainly IT-literate, you'll have experience of delivering analysis that drives business, by making complex data easy to understand. You'll also be able to develop reporting processes that support performance analysis (or a similar analytical environment). This is a role where written skills are as important as verbal talents. You'll need to write influential briefing notes that draw out key findings and negotiate with colleagues and stakeholders in clear, concise spoken presentations.
