Lecturer - Games Development
Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (GBMet) (formerly Northbrook College and City College Brighton) aims to transform the lives of students across the Greater Brighton region. The college will invest in a broad curriculum offer establishing a sound educational footing of mathematics, English and employability skills while at the same time developing a suite of technical and vocational specialisms at level 3 and above. There will be an expansion of its higher education and technical offer and an emphasis on apprenticeships and work based learning.
We are currently seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Lecturer to join the team delivering programming units on the Games Development UAL Level 2 and 3 courses. Your main responsibilities will be course delivery, design and preparation, including the provision of schemes of work and individual learning plans and carrying out course evaluation and self-assessment. You will be student focused, team-orientated and flexible with excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and presenting skills.
You should have a passion for games and game development and have knowledge of C# in Unity and C++ in Unreal Engine 4 - with demonstrable experience of working within Unity or UE4 in either a professional or academic capacity.
You also need to hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to attain a teaching qualification within 2 years. We will also accept applications from practitioners wishing to work sessional/part-time or job share hours. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who can stimulate, inspire and support students at all levels to achieve.
