Contract Type
Are you dynamic and resourceful, and motivated by helping others to help themselves?

The Personal Support Unit (PSU) is an independent charity providing practical and emotional support to people facing the court process without lawyers. Most people are unfamiliar with - and may be frightened of - the courts, and many are in danger of losing their homes, children or livelihoods.

This highly regarded, energetic and friendly charity, is seeking a Manager to further develop it's recently established service in the Family Court at Feltham, in West London.

With remote support from the PSU management team and colleagues across the PSU network, you will work with the local court staff to sustain the service in the West London Family Court, where you will be based. As the only staff member on-site, you will recruit, enthuse and support a team of volunteers to help litigants in person to represent themselves in family cases.

You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, training and managing volunteers, building and sustaining partnerships with key agencies, and co-ordinating local fundraising activities.

You will be an engaging communicator, and a practical and well-organised individual, who may already have done some work in the voluntary sector, or can provide evidence of the transferability of your experience.

Applicants should apply with a CV and a covering letter explaining persuasively why we should offer you the post. It is important that your letter should provide evidence of the criteria detailed in the person specification.

If, after reading the information below and the job details, you think you could take on the challenge of steering the PSU at WLFC through the next phase of it's development, we would welcome your application.
