The Role Design Engineer-Mechanical Systems Client: Our client is a world-class strategic partner for engineering-driven organizations that develop, support, operate and maintain complex equipment. They serve a broad range of industry sectors, including commercial and VIP aviation, aerospace and defence, manufacturing and other industries. Summary: Working directly with the Electrical systems, Structural and Project Engineers to provide aircraft level changes to ventilation, heating, air conditioning, potable and grey water systems EXPERIENCE- 10 years in related commercial aircraft design Carry out analysis and interpretation of client/customer requirements/technical specifications of aircraft equipment, components and systems and ensuring their successful integration onto aircraft. Produce, review and approve system logic control diagrams and installation drawings Define structural requirements for system installation Produce, review and approve system installation safety assessments (CS-25.1309) Produce, review and approve Design Reports for LRU qualification Produce, review and approve system compliance verification, test and commissioning documents Resolve system failure and underperformance problems Select equipment and components with respect to function and environmental conditions Attend project meetings, supplying specialist knowledge of mechanical systems Conduct technical evaluation of new design proposals and engineering changes Conform to, maintain and generate Processes and Procedures to ensure continued adherence to regulatory requirements Support the provision of timely design solutions meeting customer and regulatory requirements SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES: The successful candidate will ideally have a thorough working knowledge of aerospace engineering, in particular interior equipment construction techniques and principles for large aircraft. An Engineering qualification is essential in addition to organisational and communication skills. The ideal candidate shall:- Have a strong working knowledge of EASA CS-25 subpart D and F Have a working knowledge of EASA Part 21 Subpart J Have a working knowledge of aircraft installation procedures and best practice Understand the requirement for critical separation of existing aircraft systems Have a working knowledge of the aircraft AMM and Schematic manuals Have the ability to identify functional and environmental test requirements for system qualification Have a detailed understanding of passenger in-seat power and actuation systems Have a detailed understanding of aircraft ventilation, heating systems, air conditioning and refrigeration would be beneficial but not essential Have the experience in managing and executing projects within defined scope, timeline and cost Have the capability to manage their own workload and priorities Have strong communication skills with customers, colleagues and regulatory Agencies Be able to use CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Catia V5, etc. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Carry out analysis and interpretation of client/customer requirements/technical specifications of aircraft equipment, components and systems and ensuring their successful integration onto aircraft Produce, review and approve technical documentation including; system installation safety assessments, LRU qualification design reports, system compliance verification tests and reports EDUCATION- Engineering / Technical Degree (can be offset by additional experience) Additional Information: -Salary: Competitive plus benefits, -Job type: Permanent, full-time - Location: United Kingdom, South -Ability to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes at short notice -Able to work independently If you are interested in applying for this position and you meet the requirements, please send your updated CV to Due to the number of applications we receive, it's not always possible to contact unsuccessful applicants.
