The Pilot Pen Company (U.K) Ltd. is renowned for its commitment to new technology and continually develops new and innovative writing instruments. As a market leader, Pilot is best known for class leading products such as the G2 gel pen, the V5 liquid ink rollerball and the FriXion erasable rollerball. We are looking for a marketing assistant to cover maternity leave starting end September 2017. The role would be based in our offices in Bourne End, Buckinghamshire. Reporting to the Marketing Manager and working alongside the Graphic Designer, the job holder will be an integral part of a busy marketing department. Key responsibilities 1. Assisting the Marketing Manager in delivering the company marketing plan and day-to-day marketing tasks. 2. Creation of marketing materials and collateral, packaging and point of sale materials in collaboration with the graphic designer. 3. Supporting new product launches and promotions. 4. Providing marketing support to Sales Account Managers. Typical support would be in the form of: a. Administration of promotional activity b. Creation of product catalogue pages and advertisements. c. Providing product information and images for presentations, websites and POS materials. d. Sourcing promotional gifts for commercial sales promotions. 5. Ensuring content on the company websites is accurate and up to date (liaising with Pilot Europe who host the UK website). 6. Responding to emails and product related questions from users of our products and where necessary resolving end-user queries in collaboration with other departments. 7. Assisting with social media posts, competitions and activity and responding to consumer posts and questions (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). 8. Fulfilment of social media and PR initiatives. 9. First-line telephone answering for calls directly into the Marketing department. The person To succeed in this role, the person must: 1. Prioritise workload and manage their time to be able to deliver to deadlines. 2. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. 3. Have a high level of experience of the Microsoft Office suite of software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). It is also desirable to have an understanding of graphic design and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. 4. Be reliable and able to work on projects with minimal supervision. 5. Be flexible and willing to assist others within the business.
