Junior Technologist - Materials testing - Physics - Materials Science - Surrey - Permanent - £Comp -Excellent Company Benefits This is an excellent opportunity to join a Surrey based organisation that is recognised worldwide as a leading centre of excellence specialising in technical, commercial and strategic aspects of packaging and the supply chain. The Technologist will be working within the organisations Materials Testing department where you will be required to conduct testing on materials and deliver results and data in high quality reports. You will also be required to undertake maintenance on equipment where applicable and maintain the highest standards of housekeeping particularly with respect to the storage of materials, chemicals, solvents and customer samples. The role includes: -Conducting test work for the Materials Testing Section under the supervision of the Laboratory Manager -Ensuring the work is carried out efficiently and to the highest standard -Compiling reports of the test work to the highest standard, including appropriate observations -Participating in group initiatives regarding visitors, demonstrating and training -Assisting other groups and functions as requested by the Laboratory Manager -Ensuring safe working and a high standard of housekeeping and that all HS&E requirements are met. As a key member of the team you will play a role in continuing the success and growth of this fast moving and dynamic operation. The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience: - Degree in physics, materials science - Understand mechanics / dynamics - Enjoy hands-on work and demonstrate practical ability - Experience in report writing - Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Works well in a team Salary circa £Comp dependent upon skills and experience, plus benefits.
