IT Project Manager - Crawley SEO: IT Project Manager, Senior PM, Senior Project Manager, Infrastructure, Network, Data Centre, ITIL, Prince 2, Agile, Waterfall, Travel, Tourism, Gatwick, Crawley, Sussex IT Project Manager required for this well-known and well respected Travel and Tourism business based out of Crawley, West Sussex and paying up to £55,000 per annum coupled with exceptional benefits package. The IT Project Manager will be responsible for delivering IT projects and programmes of work for the IT Operations Team. As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for understanding the business goals that are to be addressed by technology-based initiatives and to assist in the delivery of projects that support the business in achieving these goals. While each project will have its own success factors and require you to leverage a different set of skills, your key toolkit will include project management & reporting tools and techniques, requirements & business analysis, and strong communication skills (both verbal and written). Your drive to understand the real needs behind projects (and their success factors), will enable you to ensure that fit-for-purpose solutions are delivered on time and in full. However, your major skill will be in managing the relationships that exist within our dynamic environment, therefore you will excel at setting and meeting the expectations of key stakeholders around the business. What You will be doing: - Facilitates Project solution design with technical team and project sponsor. - Support the Project Sponsor with the formulation of business cases with technical feasibility, project planning and budgeting tasks - with the support of any other teams required. - Working with the Technology teams, understand the user and technology implications for the roadmap, and plan-out alternatives to achieve the objectives set by the brands. - Once projects are in play, regularly update the delivery plan to reflect changing circumstances, and communicate the plan to the business on a weekly basis, highlighting progress against critical milestones plus risks and issues. - Align projects with desired (or pre-defined) technology strategies and solutions. - Ensure projects adhere to the relevant project methodology and structured framework (PID, RACI, etc); including requirements capture and prioritisation, scoping and specification, communication and project updates, change control, implementation and sufficient business and technical testing. - Work with the brands and Technology teams to plan tasks and dependencies to reach the project goals. - Coordinate resources to ensure that tasks are completed on time. - Keep a tight rein on scope and manage change control, updating the plan for delivery where necessary. - Effectively communicate and report on projects on a weekly and monthly basis, to the relevant forums. - Ensure that project decision-making is robust by making relevant data available and involves all relevant business and technical stakeholders at relevant points. - Resolve resource clashes between projects and BAU work by negotiation with project managers, resource managers and other stakeholders. - Work closely with projects owners to ensure that relevant resources available for project work at the appropriate times. - Ensure projects have adequate documentation in order to handover developments to the wider business and IT support teams for operational deployment. - Maintain a project log of risks and issues as required, escalating to the Programme Manager and Project Sponsors where relevant. What we are looking for: - Proven experience in managing complex IT Infrastructure style projects. - Capability to exceed delivery targets. - Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills to operate at any level of the business. - Ability to translate often complex technology terms into simpler language that can be understood by senior stakeholders, in-order to facilitate a decision. - Demonstrate empathy to people where the situation requires, to ensure that they remain supportive and engaged in the project. - Strong management skills to coach and mentor own team as well as those in other areas of the business - matrix-style management. - Ability to remain objective and goal-focused under pressure. - Ability to identify areas of improvement, and work with the Head of IT Operations to implement such changes quickly and efficiently. - Proven experience in the delivery of complex projects in a business-facing service-oriented environment. - Ability to synthesise detail into an overall plan of action and roadmap. - Organised, methodical and conscientious. - Ability to understand project challenges from many points of view including commercially, logistically and from the perspective of a customer/user. - Good understanding of core project and programme management and software development lifecycle methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile, Prince2 etc. - Ability to provide feedback in realtime to the project teams where performance is not as expected - or when performance is over what was expected, and celebrate successes publically as the face of IT in the business.
