An excellent opportunity for a graduate with a higher degree in materials science or chemistry to join a busy chemical regulatory team and assist in all aspects of implementing REACH – gathering data, classifications, authorisation, socio-economic analysis etc. This will be a diverse and challenging role – you will work closely with the REACH / regulatory affairs manager and provide assistance with exposure assessments and exposure scenarios, hazard classification of some very challenging substances (CMR substances), analysis of alternatives and socio-economic analysis. A key part of your role will be helping to identify data gaps and then sourcing/gathering the scientific data from various suppliers, downstream user companies and consortia members. We are look for a high calibre individual with a sound academic track record (ideally a higher degree in chemistry or materials science). Some experience of chemical regulations / chemical regulatory affairs is preferred – knowledge of REACH or CLP would be ideal. Any experience of exposure scenarios, exposure assessments, hazard classifications would be very useful. You must have proven ability to source and review scientific data, confident communications skills and strong writing / technical report writing experience.
