Our services cover education, housing, substance misuse treatment and the prevention of reoffending This is an exciting opportunity enthusiastic English and Maths Trainer to join a small team delivering a Study Programme to disadvantaged learners at the Nacro Education Centre in Chatham The English and Maths Trainer will work as part of the Chatham teaching team to ensure learners achieve the appropriate English and Maths qualifications (Entry level Functional Skills and GCSE) while developing the learners' employability, personal and social skills. This unique opportunity will allow the post-holder to develop learners' confidence and help them progress to mainstream education or work. None of our classes have more than 10 learners to enable you to build meaningful and effective working relationships. This role will be based at: The Nacro Chatham Education Centre, 55 Second Ave Chatham Kent ME4 5AU, working 35 hours per week, plus paid lunch break (40 hours in total) The successful candidate should have experience in guiding a diverse group of clients through the requirements of an awarding body such as City & Guilds and AQA. As well as the ability to identify preferred learning styles and engage difficult-to-reach young people. As a successful candidate you should have: - A level 4 teaching qualification (Certificate in Education & Training (CET) or an equivalent qualification) OR - A level 5 teaching qualification (Diploma in Education & Training (DET), Cert Ed, or an equivalent qualification) AND - GCSE English, Maths and ICT (or equivalent qualifications at level 2 or above) Salary is dependent on qualifications held. Interviews for this role are taking place week commencing 28th August.
