Salary: GBP20,186 - GBP21,420 per annum

(within the range of GBP25,237 - GBP26,776 pro rata pa)

Greater Brighton Metropolitan College (GBMet) (formerly Northbrook College and City College Brighton) aims to transform the lives of students across the Greater Brighton region. The college will invest in a broad curriculum offer establishing a sound educational footing of mathematics, English and employability skills while at the same time developing a suite of technical and vocational specialisms at level 3 and above. There will be an expansion of its higher education and technical offer and an emphasis on apprenticeships and work based learning.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and pro-active Coordinator to support our Widening Participation activities. The purpose of this cross-departmental role will be to support the planning and delivery of Widening Participation activity to support the Access Agreement and Widening Participation Action Plan. The role will follow the student lifecycle from outreach, to success and retention to progression.

This activity includes coordinating inbound College visits and coordinating a targeted outreach programme that includes the delivery of HE IAG presentations and workshops. You will also be acting as institutional expert on the delivery of HE IAG and subject enrichment activities both with College based activities and in targeted institutions.

Other duties include responsibility for the recruitment of Student Ambassadors and also developing relationships and communicating effectively with internal departments such as Student Support Services being able to signpost students when they are in times of need.

You should be educated to degree level or above and have an awareness of government policy on higher education admissions and Widening Participation. You should also have proven experience of successful project management and will also need strong IT and communication skills. An organised approach to dealing with a high volume and variety of tasks is essential.

You will be required to travel between sites and to off-site locations and may also need to work occasional evenings and weekends.
