Award winning Secure Payments company looking to grow by 100% - Exciting Greenfield Projects including Microservices transformation!

The Company:

Are you a Senior Developer (Spring, RESTful Webservices, JMS, Agile) looking for a new exciting challenge? I have the pleasure of working with this award winning secure payments company who are entering an exciting phase of organic growth, they have an enviable client list including some of the biggest household names in the UK! They are undergoing major re-development plans and as a result are looking to grow their Java Development team by 100% over the next few months - major new projects have seen the existing development team challenged like never before and it is now time to add to the team!

Initial plans are to future proof their patented product, they are looking to shift from a monolithic application to a series of scalable Java 8 microservices, phasing out JBoss for Tomcat, and introducing SpringBoot ,as you can imagine this takes a considerable amount of engineering activity and they require the team to double in size to accommodate the workload.

Quality code is at the heart of everything they do and in line with this you will be removing technical debt by writing clean, scalable and testable Java code.

The Role:

Day to day you will be part of the Agile/Scrum team attending a daily stand-up, retrospectives and work in our fortnightly sprints. You will have complete ownership in everything you do. While they do have an excellent QA Team, everything you send to them should already be peer reviewed and a suite of tests created in Junit.

You also must have a good understanding of, and preferably worked with, Core Spring as it will form the basis of your daily work.

You will have awareness of high-level development concepts, with an insight into software engineering practices and system architecture ideally including SOA, Restful web services and API experience. Additionally, regardless of experience, you will be comfortable working with Tomcat, Linux, Maven as build tools and Git for source control.

Skills and Experience:

You will already be a very component and confident Java Developer (Spring, RESTful Webservices, JMS, Agile) who can eloquently describe what you do and reasoning behind why certain tech is preferred over similar tech - they are looking for someone who is passionate about what they do and enjoy being a fundamental cog in the development process/team.
