The Head of Technology Governance and Reporting provides an Operational view of the Group Technology function, including related Governance, to ensure Technology leadership make business driven prioritisation decisions and that there is an acceptable balance between benefit delivery and operational risk.

The responsibilities of the Head of Governance and Reporting include; designing and implementing governance processes, deploying the Operating Model in line with the Technology Strategy and managing it's continual improvement and evolution, ensuring processes and compliance on Technology led projects are adhered to whilst providing quality assurance and ensuring the necessary controls are in place for the management of the function and robust project/ programme governance at each stage of the project lifecycle.

About the role

Based in either London or Chesterfield, with travel between the locations, you'll lead a team responsible for delivering robust and effective Technology Governance processes for Group Technology and, where appropriate, across the P&L divisions for Letters & Network and Parcels.

Working closely with all areas of Technology, to ensure representative of functional inputs into Governance and gating processes, you'll be responsible for managing key relationships with Technology Gating Panel members and wider project delivery teams.

A key accountability will be the management of resourcing and recruitment for the Group Technology function, both for permanent and contract staff, including overall management of the Technology template alongside our investment priorities and within the BAU budget. This will include the prioritisation and alignment of resource to Strategic Priorities and related changes to the overall Operating Model where required.

Further duties will include leading on communication of process changes to the Group Technology function and RMG stakeholders alongside accountability for Governance, Risk and Compliance reporting materials in relation to the overall Group Technology function.

Accountable for leading effective management of risk across the function, including running Risk Management workshops for the Group Technology Function and across P&L divisions, where appropriate, you'll be responsible for ensuring control issues through audit are prioritised and actioned, directing audit resources in line with risks and business priorities as required.

About You

In this challenging strategic level role you'll utilise your significant experience of team management to build and develop teams through change, including the ability to engage and influence teams outside of their direct control. You'll have substantial experience of designing and implementing Operating Models and related processes, with knowledge and expertise in technology governance frameworks and methodologies.

Possessing excellent communication (written and oral), influencing, leadership and presentation skills you'll have the ability to build, articulate and communicate an engaging message that builds consensus and drives change. With gravitas and strong relationship building skills, with internal and external stakeholders (Technology, RMG and Suppliers), you'll be comfortable with liaising with senior executives to drive project delivery competencies within delivery teams.

With a proven track record of Operational and Project governance, strong financial acumen and a controls awareness background, you'll have excellent planning and organisational skills to co-ordinate and manage gating control and assurance activities.
