Team Profile:
A Java or Scala Services Developer is required for web services development associated with the GL Information Delivery work stream. This is a high priority, high visibility initiative tasked with the implementation of a new reporting suite at the firm covering General Ledger and associated financial information.

Role:
  • The RAPID reporting renovation project is deploying a number of custom build and vendor products leveraging bespoke reporting middleware, as an integrated reporting solution for the Finance Department.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for the entire SDLC, have strong communication skills and experience working directly with the business.
  • They will need to be self-sufficient and comfortable with building internal networks, both with the business and other technology teams.
  • They will be expected to own changes all the way from inception to deployment in production.
  • In addition to implementing new functionality they will use their experience in TDD and best practices to identify process gaps or areas for improvement with a constant focus on scalability and stability.
  • There will be opportunities to learn new technologies and work across the application tiers.


Qualifications
Required Skills:
  • Experience using Java or Scala and Spring in web services development with REST/SOAP
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies with a track record of high quality deliverables
  • Problem solving in N-tier architectures
  • Familiarity of design patterns
  • A track record of using test driven development
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of RDBMS and SQL
  • HTML5/AngularJS
  • Hibernate/Slick/Other ORM
  • Experience working with global teams
