Department Overview

The Corporate Relations function is made up of a number of specialist teams within the fields of Corporate Communications, Group Brand, Marketing & Sponsorship, Government Relations & Public Policy, and Citizenship and Reputation . Its purpose is to win the hearts and minds of our stakeholders both internally and externally by becoming the most admired brand, epitomising our purpose and values, creating advocacy and inspiring our people.

Role Purpose:

The Assistant Vice President, Data Analytics and Reporting reports to the Vice President, Data Analytics and Reporting, and sits within the Corporate Relations team.

The role holder will:

  • Manage reporting processes and technology to collate, verify and analyse data globally related to the Shared Growth Ambition - Barclays Citizenship and Sustainability strategy
  • Deliver insightful and timely analytics for internal management reporting and support delivery of external reporting, including Annual Reports and ESG reporting and benchmarks
  • Ensure compliance with all internal and external reporting requirements, including independent assurance
  • Develop necessary reporting processes, frameworks and tools, including a focus on increased automation and measuring of societal and commercial impacts.


Key Accountabilities

Data Analytics and Reporting - Employability and Entrepreneur Initiative
  • Manage and enhance, as needed, the measurement and evaluation framework for the global Employability Initiative- including global strategic skills partnerships and the Unreasonable Impact programme.
  • Collaborate with Regional Citizenship teams on the measurement and evaluation for the Employability Initiative to demonstrate progress against targets and the impact of the programmes
  • Contribute to wider Shared Growth measurement framework as well as return on investment KPIs related to the Employability Initiative
  • Aggregate and analyse the Employability Initiative reporting globally on a quarterly basis and for the year-end assurance process from all Regional Citizenship teams/programmes as well as relevant BAU BU/Function programmes
  • Provide Employability data as requested to senior stakeholders (e.g. Global Citizenship Council and Regional Citizenship Councils), for internal reporting as well as for external reporting via the Barclays Annual Report, Barclays Citizenship Data Supplement, external benchmarking indices
  • Enhance reporting infrastructure as needed, working in collaboration with the VP, Data Infrastructure and Operations to enhance the reporting platform/infrastructure, as needed, to provide a robust and consistent platform to collate and analyse robust global employability data
  • Analyse key business operating metrics, derive trends, provide meaningful commentary and forecast future results


Data Analytics and Reporting - Employee/Colleague Programmes and broader participation analytics and reporting
  • Manage and enhance the global Employee Participation (includes Matched Fundraising, Volunteering and Giving as well as additional strategic participation categories) reporting database, reporting processes and templates in collaboration with Global Head of Colleague Engagement
  • Contribute to wider Shared Growth Plan measurement framework as well as return on investment KPIs related to colleague engagement, including with HR to provide key analysis (e.g. Citizenship colleague participation related to colleague promotion/performance/retention)
  • Aggregate and analyse Employee Programmes reporting on a quarterly basis and for the year-end assurance process from all Regional Citizenship teams and provide information to Director of Citizenship Strategy as needed
  • Project manage quarterly reporting process across all Regional and BU Citizenship teams, including coordinating reporting timetable, aggregating/reviewing the data for database, producing and refining data collection templates and assisting stakeholders with the reporting process where required
  • Partner with VP, Employee Programmes Operations and team (in conjunction with Employee Programme tech portal via GivingForce), HR MI (HR hierarchies) as well as other relevant stakeholders to ensure Employee Participation reporting is accurate and robust
  • Provide Employee Programme data as requested to senior stakeholders (e.g. Global Citizenship Council and Regional Citizenship Councils), internal reporting as well as external reporting via the Annual Report, Citizenship Data Supplement as well as external benchmarking indices
  • Empower BUs and Functions to access participation data required for senior leaders and Balanced Scorecards via the Employee Participation database to build a sustainable, self-service model
  • Enhance Employee Programmes reporting templates and database as needed as well as the reporting tool via GivingForce, working in collaboration with the VP, Data Infrastructure and Operations and the VP, Employee Programmes Operations, to enhance the reporting infrastructure, as needed, to provide robust, accurate data
  • Analyse key business operating metrics, derive trends, provide meaningful commentary and forecast future results

Team working
  • Act as an advocate and role model for Barclays' values and behaviours
  • Provide support to VP, Data Analytics and Reporting and work collaboratively with the Global Head of Colleague Engagement as well as regional Citizenship Programme Engagement leads
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to foster a positive working environment and help create an effective Citizenship and Reputation function
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships to build trust and cooperation, confidence in our expertise and a positive reputation for the wider function
  • Provide support to Director, Head of Citizenship Strategy as required
  • Share best practice and learning with colleagues and seek continuous improvement opportunities

Person Requirement
  • 4 years+ in a similar reporting with a strong understanding of reporting guidelines
  • Experience of working for a large consultancy firm or blue chip company
  • Strong technology skills and understanding - experience of building systems working with IT partners
  • ESG analytics experience (preferred)
  • Excellent communicator and strong stakeholder skills
  • Ability to travel as required
