We are looking for a talented and driven Account Sales Manager to join our high profile team. Our Account Sales Managers are focused on driving retention and growth within a defined portfolio of existing customers. This is achieved through the development of a close relationship with the customer base, challenging our Customers, ensuring new opportunity identification and subsequent maximum account expansion.

This exciting role will manage a mixed portfolio of Mid and Large Market Customers programs within our German market base. You will be responsible for creating and executing account development strategies, coordinating all customer related activities. You will adopt a positive, energized and solution orientated approach with colleagues across American Express' organisation including Risk, Marketing, Sales, Finance and the Global Servicing Network (GSN) and will develop collaborative relationships with these internal partners to help drive success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Retaining and growing the existing relationship with a Portfolio of Customers, through targeted expansions.
  • Challenging Customers existing processes and to recommend Amex solutions to help Customers achieve their goals.
  • Ensuring Customers are supported to self service so the successful candidate can focus on strategic activities
  • Ensure delivery and on going development of account strategies and plans to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Planning, coordination, communication and cross-divisional management of all customer-related activities.
  • Close cooperation with other business groups including; FXIP, Merchant Services, Credit, Risk, Finance & GSN.

Required skills:

  • Written and spoken German and English
  • Proven track record of success in account development, sales and closing.
  • Strategic Skills and Challenger Approach with strong negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent time management and project management skills.
  • Analytical & organisational skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and communicate complex ideas, both verbally and in written form, developing written communications for a variety of audiences.
  • Good understanding of complex commercial relationships and ability to build strong client network across all levels and functions.
  • Highly motivated, dynamic, and professional with the ability to manage a demanding workload and thrive under pressure.
