JOB PURPOSE/ROLE
Based in London and reporting directly to the Team Leader, Claims, Financial Lines, you will be delivering effective and efficient Claims Handling support, including timely and efficient claims processing, related manual inputting and general administration duties. You will also be supporting the preparation and handling of standard claims within agreed authority. In addition you will ensure all claims are handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines. You will proactively liaise with other functions to ensure timely and accurate Claims administration. You will be expected to develop and maintain peer level relationships with brokers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Input and maintain accurate claims records (e.g. reserves, payments) for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems
•Process standard indemnity and expense payments
•Complete general claims administration tasks as required
•Prepare case for settlement of standard claims through payment or denial
•Support negotiation to ensure efficient and competitive settlement
•Proactively produce management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements)
•Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines
•Refer cases outside of authority level
•Prepare referral documentation and materials as appropriate
•Report loss information internally and externally
•Proactively work with other functional areas in Claims handling process, e.g. Underwriting, MMC, ARC, Operations
•Proactively review late/non payment of premium and support credit control process with Underwriting / Accounts
•Proactively work with other functions (e.g. operations, credit control) to resolve outstanding accounts queries

KEY REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
•Preferably a degree in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline
•Progress towards professional insurance qualification (e.g. CII)
•Basic understanding of regional / local LoB insurance markets and competitor landscape
•Basic understanding of legal and regulatory framework
•Claims Handling: knowledge of claims handling process from notification to settlement and recovery
•Reserving, reinsurance and coinsurance: knowledge of reserving principles and practices; robust understanding of coinsurance and reinsurance and application
•Litigation: understanding of relevant legal processes and procedures, litigation management, litigation avoidance techniques (e.g. mediation)
•Communication skills: Clearly and effectively express ideas and messages via speech or writing
•Presentation skills: Effectively express and display thoughts and ideas visually, using various tools
•Analytical Skills: Ability to effectively absorb information from various sources, then analyze, study or examine data in detail, and draw appropriate conclusions
