The Operations division is both the first line of defence for protecting Morgan Stanley's financial and reputational well-being, and an essential partner contributing to the firm's growth. Facing off to all Morgan Stanley businesses and interacting with all other parts of the Firm, the Operations division supports a complex, multi-faceted portfolio of businesses in full compliance with regulatory guidelines and the directives of the Operating Committee and Board of Directors. Members of the Operations team have a unique vantage point as the division touches all parts of the business, front to back. One of the largest divisions in the firm, Operations has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions. Team Profile
The Equity Derivatives Trade Support team based in London is responsible for providing support to the Equity Flow, Converts and Exotics trading desks for:
1) the issuance & lifecycle management of their Note & Certificate business
2) OTC trade capture and life cycle maintenance
3) ensuring the integrity of the front-to-back trade bookings

The successful Director candidate will be responsible for providing Subject Matter Expertise for key business led initiatives, executing controls, management of assigned direct reports and help to shape future state control framework and technology supporting the business.

Primary Responsibilities
- Trade and Issue Date controls on product set-up and trade booking.
- Deal verification of Tradebooking to Term sheets or other sources
- Processing lifecycle management for both OTC & securitized products.
- Overseeing novation related activity
- Daily reconciliation and clearance of position/product & internal accounting breaks.
- Interacting with other internal support areas such as Finance, Treasury, Settlements and Legal.
- Identification and escalation of control-related issues, develop procedures/solutions to close gaps.
- Interacting with the Sales & Trading Desks, answering any ad-hoc requests/trade related questions.
- Partnering with stakeholders to specify and deliver business process improvements and efficiencies via changes in procedures and technology.

Skills Required
Strong understanding of equity derivatives, experience of structured products and Exotic OTC's would be considered advantageous.
We expect that the likely candidates may have developed the necessary competencies in a similar role over a 5-7 year period.
Previous experience of working in a Derivatives Trade Support function
Familiarity and experience with the front-to-back lifecycle of derivative products.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to adapt existing skills in a new environment quickly.
Ability to think laterally, and recognise opportunities for system/process improvement.
Ability to understand complex problems quickly and move projects forward.
